The workstations have no local hard drives and boot Ubuntu Linux over the network to provide each user with a fully-functional Linux desktop, rather than the "here's a browser and a copy of MS Word, don't try to use anything else" mentality of the internet cafes I've encountered. I thoroughly approve, especially as they've chosen to go with a Debian-based distribution.
What's most amazing is that nobody sits down and complains about it not being Windows. They intuitively start browsing Ubuntu's application menu and start doing their thing. OpenOffice doesn't pose an issue either - most don't even realize they're not using MS Office!
