Hello, Facebookers! Syndicate content

In response to a flurry of friends trying to add me on Facebook last night, I have finally succumbed and signed up over there. So, hi, Facebook people!

I have to say that I was impressed and a little creeped out at the signup process's ability to identify people I might know, based solely on my email address and half a dozen people who had invited me, particularly since one of those people was an apparent spammer and many of the suggestions were people I know, but have no conceivable connection to anyone who's invited me. And it's still managing a bit over 50% accuracy in its suggestions. Is it basing this on data obtained from other social networking sites, google searches, or what?

I don't know how much time I'll actually spend over there, but it's a point of contact regardless and it looks like I've successfully set it up to receive updates from my blog at sherohman.org, so it should serve that purpose adequately.

Now if I could just figure out how to get my name into my profile's URL instead of that godawful long number...
