Home is typically just where I hang (well, OK, lay) my hat. I'm
currently living in Elk River, MN, and that's about as "home" as I
get right now, although I don't feel any particularly strong
attachment to my current apartment. The lack of attachment probably
has something to do with the mindset I moved here with: If, after a
year at my current job, it looks like I'll want to stay there for an
extended period of time, I'll buy a house up here; if not, I'll be
moving back to the Twin Cities when I change jobs. Either way, I've
never expected to stay here for overly long.
Like I said above, it's usually just where I live and, as I've lived
alone for many years, I guess that makes it things. On the other
hand, though, I have occasionally found that the homes of close
friends may feel more like home than the place I live, so it would
appear that people can override things in the end.
5876 miles. I took a trip down to Buenos Aires in September, 1998 to
see the country that tango came from (and, of course, to take a few
lessons and do some dancing while I was in town).
Main plans are to DJ for the Tango
Society of Minnesota's monthly milonga, which is looking like it
could be somewhat complicated by winter weather. Aside from that,
I reinstalled Missionforce: CyberStorm on Thursday and I'm
likely to be playing a bit (well, probably too much...) of that over
the weekend. I should also be clearing some space on my Tivo's hard drive, since it's
filling up again; I'd like to get caught up on some reading; and
I really should finish setting up the replacement server that I bought
3 months ago before this one's hard drive fails again.
