My Friday Five for October 18, 2002

  1. How many TVs do you have in your home?
One, I think. I might also have an old 9-inch black-and-white set tucked away somewhere, but it hasn't been used in years.

  2. On average, how much TV do you watch in a week?
Not a lot. 6-10 hours a week, if that, and frequently less. In warmer times of year, I probably come close to doubling the amount of time my TV is on with all the time I spend waiting for the Weather Channel to do a local forecast so I know if it'll be decent motorcycling weather.

  3. Do you feel that television is bad for young children?
No more so than for anyone else. (Fun fact: Your brain is more active when sleeping than when watching TV.)

  4. What TV shows do you absolutely HAVE to watch, and if you miss them, you're heartbroken?
Whatever anime series might be running that I haven't seen before. (Currently Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and the latest season of Pokemon, but G Gundam looks like it's getting near the end. Hopefully, they'll replace it with another new-to-me anime series when the storyline ends...)

I also make a point of watching Enterprise and Junkyard Wars, but missing an episode of those isn't such a big deal. Not that I miss episodes often, thanks to my Tivo.

  5. If you had the power to create your own television network, what would your line-up look like?
All anime, all the time. And good stuff, not all this Dragonball crap that infests Cartoon Network. Dubbed during the day, subtitled and uncut during late-night and other off-peak timeslots.
