My Friday Five for March 14, 2003

  1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not?
Compared to what? I'll take it over being completely cut off from contact with people, but I'd rather talk in person. It's certainly not something I do for the sheer fun of being on the phone, in any case.

  2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
    Michelle G.

  3. About how many telephones do you have at home?
"About" one landline and one (work-issued) cell.

  4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened?
Other than telemarketers? No. (And, as for the phone spammers, I just tell them to put me on their do-not-call list and they shut up nice and fast.)

  5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not?
Phone if it's something urgent, email otherwise. Email avoids any question of interrupting someone when they're in the middle of something and, more importantly, you don't get a damned answering machine if they're not available right off.
