My Friday Five for August 8, 2003

1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
   Canada. I just spent a 5-day weekend camping about halfway between Montreal and Ottawa.

2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
   Hrm... Good question. Nothing springs to mind.

3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
   I would like to see Japan and it would be nice to go back to Buenos Aires and soak up some more tango, but it would probably be Iceland. The 4 days I spent there wasn't nearly long enough.

4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
   Car. Much better chance to see the scenery. (Plus it avoids most of the terrorism paranoia surrounding airports these days.)

5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
   I would like to get back to Iceland soon, but it looks like London may be my next international trip (maybe with a stop off in Reykjavik on the way back...). Interstate, the next thing on the scope would be Vinatta '03 in Indiana next November, but I wouldn't be surprised to find myself taking a shorter road trip before then.
