My Friday Five for August 15, 2003

  1. How much time do you spend online each day?
Me personally? 8-10 hours at work, plus maybe an hour (rarely more) at home.

My computers? 24/7/365. They only go down for hardware changes (or failures) or prolonged power outages and they only go offline when the DSL gets cranky.

  2. What is your browser homepage set to?
    sherohman.org, of course!

  3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
I use Yahoo! Messenger on rare occasions, but don't really get into the IM thing. Email is at least as good by me.

  4. Where was your first webpage located?
That would probably be the one I put together for JAG Systems way back when (95-96) - I wasn't quick to jump on the web bandwagon (and I'm still skeptical about it today; the web has its uses, but does not deserve to be the uber-everything-online-in-one-place-with-one-interface mega-conglomeration that everyone seems to want it to be and it certainly is not the whole of the internet that most non-techies seem to think it is). I have no memory of where it was hosted.

  5. How long have you had your current website?
Hrm... Let's see... sherohman.org was registered at 20-Jun-2000 16:46:06 UTC, so that makes it a little over three years.
