Chromatic Magic: The Six Colors of Magic

Red Magic

Origin Concept: Red Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Red ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Red Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Red Wizards are Superior to Orange Wizards and Inferior to Purple Wizards.

Origin Orientation: With the ability to destroy that which does not please them, Red Wizards are frequently strong-willed and violent; subtlety does not come easily to them. Neither does restraint.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy 5
          Orange: Transformation Organic 4

Orange Magic

Origin Concept: Orange Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Orange ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Orange Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Orange Wizards are Superior to Yellow Wizards and Inferior to Red Wizards.

Origin Orientation: Orange Wizards see unlimited potential in all things, especially those which are alive. As a result, Orange Wizards are the most likely of all Chromatic Adepts to be pacifists. When faced with an obstacle, Orange Wizards are proficient at providing the tools they need to overcome it, though many are even more likely to change their plans to accomodate the obstacle.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy -
          Orange: Transformation Organic 5

          Green: Conjuration Reality 3
          Blue: Divination Spirit 2
          Purple: Manipulation Will 1

Paradigm Range: 8 Yards, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Duration: 30 Seconds. Doubling the Base Cost of a Paradigm will give a Base Interval of 10 Minutes. Tripling the Base Cost will make a Paradigm Instantaneous.

Temper Aspects: Extend (Variation Facility: Range 2, Duration 5), Widen (Variation Facility: 2)

Yellow Magic

Origin Concept: Yellow Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Yellow ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Yellow Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Yellow Wizards are Superior to Green Wizards and Inferior to Orange Wizards.

Origin Orientation: Yellow Wizards are often orderly and withdrawn from society. Many prefer quiet contemplation to physical activity, though there are some who are more ambitious and start many projects, but rarely finish them before their interest wanes.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy 1
          Orange: Transformation Organic -
          Yellow: Creation Physical 5
          Green: Conjuration Reality 4
          Blue: Divination Spirit 3
          Purple: Manipulation Will 2

Paradigm Range: 5 Yards, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Area: 15 Cubic Yards, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Duration: Instantaneous. Doubling the Base Cost of a Paradigm will give a Base Interval of 10 Seconds (2 Action Intervals). Tripling the Base Cost will give a Base Interval of 5 Minutes.

Green Magic

Origin Concept: Green Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Green ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Green Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Green Wizards are Superior to Blue Wizards and Inferior to Yellow Wizards.

Origin Orientation: Green Wizards wield great power, bending and shaping Reality to their will. Many believe that they even have the power to consort with spirits and turn to Dark magic as a result. The greatest weakness of the Green Wizards (except, perhaps, pride) is that they cannot create anything, they can only bring that which exists to themselves.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy 2
          Orange: Transformation Organic 1
          Yellow: Creation Physical -
          Green: Conjuration Reality 5
          Blue: Divination Spirit 4
          Purple: Manipulation Will 3

Paradigm Range: 15 Yards, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Area: 4 Cubic Yards or 2 Individuals, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Duration: Instantaneous. Doubling the Base Cost of a Paradigm will give a Base Interval of 10 Seconds (2 Action Intervals). Tripling the Base Cost will give a Base Interval of 5 Minutes.

Temper Aspects: Widen (Variation Facility: 3)

Blue Magic

Origin Concept: Blue Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Blue ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Blue Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Blue Wizards are Superior to Purple Wizards and Inferior to Green Wizards.

Origin Orientation: Masters of divination and illusion, Blue Wizards tend to be scholarly, though there are also a large number who prefer to deceive others rather than to learn for themselves. Some Blue Wizards are also known to take advantage of their close ties to the Spirit world to enhance their knowledge of arcane matters, despite the risks of being turned to Dark magic.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy 3
          Orange: Transformation Organic 2
          Yellow: Creation Physical 1
          Green: Conjuration Reality -
          Blue: Divination Spirit 5
          Purple: Manipulation Will 4

Paradigm Range: 5 Yards, Variable (Manipulated). Base Range for Divination Paradigms is 100 Yards, but may be extended to 1 Mile if the Base Cost is doubled.

Paradigm Area: 4 Cubic Yards, Variable (Manipulated). Base Area of 25 Cubic Yards for Divination Paradigms or Spirit Paradigms that create illusions.

Purple Magic

Origin Concept: Purple Wizards are the college of Chromatic Adepts who draw out the Purple ether to power their spells. Unless noted otherwise, Purple Wizards conform to the standard Chromatic Origin.

Origin Relations: Purple Wizards are Superior to Red Wizards and Inferior to Blue Wizards.

Origin Orientation: Purple Wizards use all things as their tools, controlling anything or anyone as suits their purposes. Naturally, they also exercise extreme self-control while radiating great charisma. Unfortunately for the Adepts and, occasionally, those around them, this control is often used to make up for a lack of information and they will frequently attempt to destroy that which they cannot control.

Affinities:

          Red: Destruction Energy 4
          Orange: Transformation Organic 3
          Yellow: Creation Physical 2
          Green: Conjuration Reality 1
          Blue: Divination Spirit -
          Purple: Manipulation Will 5

Paradigm Area: 5 Cubic Yards, Variable (Manipulated)

Paradigm Duration: Base Interval 15 Seconds (3 Action Intervals). Doubling the Base Cost of a Paradigm will increase the Base Interval to 10 Minutes. Tripling the Base Cost will make the Paradigm Permanent. Instantaneous effects are not available through Purple magic.

Paradigm Limitations: No Instantaneous effects are possible.

Temper Aspects: Anchor not available.
